For the first time, Fragonard is inaugurating a truly unique venue combining
a ground floor boutique and upper floor characterful rooms.    

>Fragonard has chosen to set down its bags in Arles at 7-9, Rue du Palais, a stone's throw from the city's famous Roman Amphitheater and Roman Theater. With its carved stone façades, sage shutters and wrought ironwork, this little lane literally overflows with southern French charm.

The rooms of our Maison reflect the Provencal spirit so dear to Fragonard and feature "tomette" terracotta floor tiles, lime washes and marble fireplaces, one of which - crowned with an exceptional terracotta medallion - is an historic monument. The three floors are topped with a terrace boasting breathtaking vistas over the rooftops of Arles. Decorated with hand-picked antique furniture and one-off or ancient decorative items, each room has its very own, uniquely-elegant charm.

BELLE DE NUIT « SUITE »

The luminous "Belle de Nuit" suite is adorned with two tall windows gazing out over Rue du Palais and a large, hand-woven wicker chandelier courtesy of the Vime workshops in Vallabrègue. The double bed is swathed in a beautiful, hand-embroidered suzani bedspread, brought back from a trip to Central Asia. The walls are embellished with 19th-century drawings, ancient studies and engravings evoking Arles’ Roman legacy. The large armchair can be converted into a single bed for an extra guest. The pretty en-suite bathroom features a shower and bathtub. Finally, the fully-fitted kitchenette is perfect for preparing an elegant breakfast, served on antique crockery.

Linen sheets, cotton towels and air-conditioning are provided in all rooms.

This snug little escape has everything you might expect from a larger room: a comfortable double bed bedecked with a block print bedspread, a ceiling light spotted at one of our favorite antique shops, a hand-made ceramic lamp with an ikat silk shade and collection of intaglios and wax engravings in their original old frames.

This spacious apartment nestling under the rafters offers a blend of tastefully and imaginatively-curated styles: a wide, ancient folding screen decorated with engravings, magnificent 18th-century Arlesian wedding armoire, gilded wooden overmantel and Italian designer lamps. Lucky travelers staying in this suite enjoy exclusive access to our gorgeous terrace, boasting breathtaking vistas over the rooftops of Arles, the City Hall and famous Clock Tower. The room also offers an extra wrought iron bed for a third guest. The roomy bathroom features a double washbasin, shower and bathtub. Last but not least, the charming and very well-equipped kitchen decorated with hand-painted tiles is perfect for preparing breakfast or rustling up an aperitif to savor on the terrace.
